Ask Coach Quese (Feb. 21)

Thank you to all of our fantastic fans that came out the BJC and watched on ESPN2 and cheered us on to a Big Ten title last night! As always, I am ready to answer your great questions. Keep those questions coming my way! You can Ask Coach Quese by sending your questions to askcoachquese@gmail.com!

So enjoy you guys! What did YOU get for Valentines Day?
Ginny Cox

Lol…Candy from Tori Waldner, Mary McCahan and Ethan Gelfand. It was a fun day!

We are currently rooting for you from Myrtle Beach,SC, our winter home.
Would be real nice if we could have more info on the team as they travel. Information such as when you do leave for a game, what type of travel, what the team does when they arrived, etc.
Bob from Myrtle Beach

Thanks Bob! Every road trip is different depending on if it’s a weekday game when class is in session or if if it’s a weekend game. If the game is during the Thanksgiving break or winter break the travel can be a little different. But generally speaking, we leave the day before the game so we can have a nice team dinner, get to the hotel and get a good nights rest before the game the next day. On the day of the game, we have breakfast in the morning; go to the arena for shootaround, have study hall, watch film and have our pre-game dinner in the afternoon; then we leave for the arena and play the game in the evening. After the game, we head back to the airport and fly home so the team can be back in time for class the next morning.

I am a long time season ticket holder. I must admit that I was a little shaky after your first season, but I am now an avid fan of yours and the Lady Lions. Thoughts of next year send shivers up my spine. If we can only take a few steps up in the NCAA Tournament so the four returning starters have the experience under their belts, I dare say I see visions of final four for next year. But so my dreams don’t jinx the whole thing let me close by saying Happy Valentine’s Day to you and all your family including the Lady Lions. Thank you for the fabulous job you have done.
Edward M. Kopanski, Esquire

Thanks so much for you support Edward. It means a lot!

How does the position that this team is in this year compare to last year? You seem to be controlling your own destiny this year to win a Big Ten title and last year you had to have some help. Do you do anything differently when preparing the team?
John from Port Matilda

John you are correct. With one week to go we are in a much stronger position than we were at this time last year, in terms of our chances of claiming the Big Ten Regular Season title. We prepare for each game the same: we simply focus on executing the game plan necessary to be successful against that team. We don’t worry about the implications of a win or loss; we simply focus on playing the game, executing the game-plan, and trying our best to be successful that day. If we can do those things, the rest will fall into place.

Thanks again to Ginny, Bob, Edward and John for their great questions! I will be back to answer your questions against next Tuesday, so don’t forget to send your questions to askcoachquese@gmail.com!

We are…Penn State!
