Ask Coach Quese (Jan. 10)

I got some great questions this week. I always love hearing from our great fans! Keep the questions coming; you can Ask Coach Quese by sending your questions to askcoachquese@gmail.com!
What's your 2 most favorite traditions as a Lady Lion Head Coach?
Kaycee Keith
My two favorite game day traditions are singing the alma mater after the games...especially after a win! And the pre-game chant the lady lions sing when the leave the locker room to take the court. When I hear "everywhere we go" I get goosebumps!
If you trade with two people for a day who would it be?
Kaycee Keith
If I could trade places for a day with two people one would be Barack Obama because I think it would be neat to go behind the scenes of the highest office in the world. The other would be Beyonce on a concert day because I would love to sing like that!
Did your players ever play pranks on you?
Kaycee Keith
Our team is a bunch of jokesters! They don't really play pranks on me but they do tease me all the time for my dance moves (or lack thereof) and because I trip over my feet all the time in practice!
Congratulations on a great victory over the Badgers. Now that Mia Nickson is healthy, we're probably moving toward invincible. I know Jerry Fisher is pulling so hard for our girls as he does the play-by-play. But occasionally he'll point out when a player is out of position. Do you ever listen to his game coverage -- or anyone else's -- to be reminded of things to point out to the players, for their improvement?
Barbara Gershman
I haven't had the pleasure of listening to Jerry Fisher call the game because I'm pretty busy coaching the game. ☺ But after the game I review the extensively and intensively with my assistant coaches to figure out what things we need to do going forward to be at our best. Because there are a lot of ways to play basketball we really keep things in house and focus on the strategies that will work best with our personnel.
Coach - Do you feel that this years team is not playing up to their potential thus far ? It just seems that they are not playing mean and nasty with an attitude on the court that no one can beat them ! Which you and i both know you must have that attitude if you want to be National Champs !!!! Thanks for your time !
Steve Moist
Our team is improving and getting better as the season progresses. We certainly haven't peaked yet and that's a good thing. Because we just got our entire team healthy over the Christmas break I am hopeful that we can start to play with the consistency our coaching staff is seeking. We do need to keep working on our defensive intensity and I thought we played with a high level of intensity and determination against Wisconsin. The team is starting to develop a toughness and it starts on the defensive end. Stay tuned!
Thanks again to Kaycee, Barabara and Steve for their great questions! I will be back to answer your questions against next Tuesday, so don’t forget to send your questions to askcoachquese@gmail.com!
