Senior Spotlight: Mia Nickson
What have enjoyed about being a Lady Lion? Pretty much my entire experience here in Happy Valley! I have loved the fans, the school spirit, and the academic life that Penn State has to offer! When it comes to being a Lady Lion the experience has been amazing! There is nothing like it in the world.

Put Florence on your Bucket List
Florence it was a very special place. Of course we all have heard of it in passing but to actually go there and experience the beautiful city was breath taking. We had a guided tour through the city which included time at a church that took 150 years to build. It was huge and took up the whole square. We went to see the famous statues of David and Goliath and saw very pretty statues surrounding the square. The view of the water was very pretty and we all enjoyed what we saw on the tour.

Nice…or Niece…
One of my favorite places while we were over seas was our day in Nice. Nice is located near the south of France relatively close to Italy. The beach by far has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Besides the pebbles it was a really nice place to relax and layout. Some of my teammates went tubbing on a couch looking raft and though they said they had fun it looked to be too exciting for me. The water was warm and felt really good. The waves were harsh and it took a lot out of us just because we werent use to it. Several people including myself got man handled by these waves and spent some time caught up in the waves.

Mia’s Advice…
My book was called "The Best Advice I Ever Got. Lessons from Extraordinary Lives." By Katie Couric.
This book was about famous people from actors to presidents of other countries. They talked about their fears, stories of success and courage, as well as stories of failures with the notion that one should never give up. One of the take aways I really liked discussed accepting failure as a part of life...but also knowing that you can get up and try again. I would recommend this book to any age because you are always in improvement to grow.

Mia’s Christmas Wish
All I want for Christmas is a lot of family time with some good home cooking and a Borders gift card. When I was a child the best Christmas gift I got was a purple elephant and I named it Bubba. I was 5 years old and thought it was a great. I believe that Santa is still real he just has a lot of helpers around
so kids keep believing because there is nothing greater than a Christmas miracle. #24

Mia Hits the YMCA
Community involvement has a huge part of Lady Lion Basketball. Recently I spent some time at the local YMCA assisting with their summer camp.
